Stock shortages of cement have become very recurrent, particularly in the regions of Kara and Savanes.

These areas are now experiencing several weeks of shortage. According to officials and Cimtogo Fortia, the two major production facilities, these problems are due to failure of equipment.

This, however, did not prevent them from continuing their cement exports to the hinterland.

Germain Meba, owner of CIB-INTA, whose main activities are computer and office products, decided to enter the sale of cement reportedly to take advantage of the shortage.

Reports said in stores of Meba, a ton of cement costs 100,000 CFA francs instead of the 81,000 CFA official price set by the State of Togo for the domestic market.
